Capital Campaigns to Expand Access to Healthcare

Marin City Health and Wellness Center is embarking on two ambitions renovation projects to double services from the Marin City and Bayview Hunters Point Clinics:

  • Multi-million dollar, mixed use new building to create a Health and Housing Hub in Marin City—In September 2017 we purchased our very own building, located at 100 Phillips Drive, across the street from our current site. The location has been used as a childcare center serving mostly children from outside the community. This 2019 campaign will allow us to more than double clinic capacity and include 20 units of affordable housing and an on-site daycare.
  • $2,200,000 expansion of our 2-story building in San Francisco—In 2016 we brought health and wellness services back to the the historic Arthur H. Coleman Medical Center, which had been closed. Founded by an African American doctor in the 1960s, this building offered medical, dental, behavioral and maternal healthcare, and optometry, pharmacy and lab services by Black practitioners for Bayview residents. We have received $1M towards the cost of upgrading the building and protecting it as an historic landmark. See this video about Bayview and Dr. Coleman’s work, and read more about the remaining $1.2M funding need.
